Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was a schoolteacher while her mother was a stay at home mom. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was a talented entertainer and singer at a young age. She show puppet shows for the neighbors. When she was just 6years old, she won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire if the actress would be keen to work in show business. McCormick was hired to star in her first big role in 1964 in a tv commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred in another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was shortly cast in the musical The Wind It up until It Breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the role of the oldest daughter in the three towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The five-year run of the show was a great success. McCormick admitted her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick was close to losing her Virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year period in the series.
